Mastbands & Cranse Irons
Main Headers > Standing Rigging > Mastbands & Cranse Irons
Off the shelf mastbands with 2 or 4 eyes. The bronze ones are OK up to about 1 ton - roughly 4mm 1x19 stainless wire, and the galvanised ones about 1.5 tons. Be warned that on any craft over about 20 ft, these are unlikely to be strong enough as cranse irons.

1. Cranse Irons
Rather perversely the picture does not show the top lug extended to take 2 holes. We have developed these to suit craft from about 7 to 12 m LOA (22-36 ft).
2. Heavy Mastbands 2-eye
Heavier duty mastbands in bronze. These incorporate heavier lugs, drilled for shackles, a broader step to fit onto masts and spars better without slipping. Depending on envisaged loading, these may safely be used as cranse irons and rigging attachments on small craft.
3. Heavy mastbands 4-eye
The same comments as for 2-eye mastbands apply
4. Mastbands 2-eye
The bronze ones are OK up to about 1 ton - roughly 4mm 1x19 stainless wire, and the galvanised ones about 1.5 tons.
5. Mastbands 4-eye
The bronze ones are OK up to about 1 ton - roughly 4mm 1x19 stainless wire, and the galvanised ones about 1.5 tons.
